![]() Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.ĭo not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"īy faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be called," concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense. I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. But he who endures to the end will be saved. Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.Īnd you will be hated by all for My name's sake. So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the L ORD.īut He answered and said, "It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.""Īnd whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. ![]() But the Angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, 'Abraham, Abraham!' So he said, 'Here I am.' And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”īeloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you Īnd you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. ![]() And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. Then they came to the place of which God had told him. But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,Īnd Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.” So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. Playlist: Go to the Faith, Testing of (topic) playlist
